Follow up conference on the humanitarian situation in Syria
A webinar will take place on Wednesday, 11 November 2020, dedicated to the current humanitarian situation in Syria and the impact of EU sanctions.
The meeting is jointly organised by the EPP Group for Intercultural and Religious Dialogue together with the three organisations that are representing the Churches in Europe in their relations with the European Institutions: the Commission of the Bishops' Conferences of the European Union (COMECE), the Conference of European Churches (CEC) and the Committee of the Representatives of the Orthodox Churches to the European Institutions (CROCEU).
It will bring together political leaders, Church representatives and NGOs working in the field with the scope of exploring the impact of EU sanctions on the humanitarian work that has been carried on in Syria since the beginning of the civil conflict, and the manner in which these sanctions could be amended so as to make humanitarian assistance more effective.
