Nepsis Belgium project: Invest in Romania! Invest in education!

From 29 November to 06 December 2017, Nepsis Belgium together with the Permanent Office of the Romanian Orthodox Church to the European Institutions organized a study visit to Belgium for two groups of Romanian students. This visit was part of the Invest in Romania! Invest In Education! program, one of the most important projects of Nepsis Belgium and aimed to gain insights over the European Institutions activity, agenda and values. During an official tour of the European Parliament, students discovered the history of the European project, the mission of its members and the work of the EP through its committees and plenary sessions and discussed with several Romanian MEPs.

Another important moment was the visit to the cultural city of Leuven, where they met a group of Romanian Master and PhD students of the Catholic University of Leuven. The meeting point was the Central Library main reading room in which they talked over the benefits of studying abroad, the international study programs and the possibility of receiving scholarships.

In the last day of the visit, students joined the Romanian orthodox community in Brussels to celebrate the feast of Saint Nicholas of Myra. The divine liturgy was held at Saint Nicholas Romanian Orthodox Church, with the participation of His Eminence JOSEPH, Metropolitan of Western and Southern Europe. Nepsis Belgium is a Christian association, founded in 2011, which brings together young people from the parishes of the Romanian Orthodox Metropolis of Western and Southern Europe by organizing conferences, pilgrimages, workshops, debates, spiritual meetings and social activities. In the last 4 years, more than 250 children and young people received scholarships, allowing and encouraging them to continue school.
